Hi there, I have deployed about 5 or 6 of this model printer around the school. Don't seem to get many issues from them. Only major draw back is the replacement toners can be a bit on the pricey side

yep been on that site for a while now, found some good resources on there for learning basic linux when I was studying for my LPIC exam. Also used there pentest+ training path when I was studying that to.

Currently we have about 70 linux machine's that specifically built as thin clients with in our school for student use. The only reason we went this path. Was the cost of replacing the machines, when we done are windows 10 upgrade over last summer.

I had this issue last year, and all I done was phone serif and said about the situation. To which the guy on the other end of the line said no problem and sent me all the relevant registrations codes I need for my full serif suite of packages.

Have a look on udemy for a person called Mike Meyers as he does a lot of course's including the A+. Also he writes training manual for comptia course for McGraw Hill education. Which you can get via any good online book store such as waterstones.

This guy has a lot of video's in regards to the setup and deployment of pfsense, but can't find anything related directly to captive portals. For me I would be looking at giving the applicant some technical tests. Such as set up a device collection in SCCM/create an deploy image with MDT, if you school uses those. Also if the job description requires it, get him to details the steps for setting up a dhcp scope with a certain amount of clients on it. That's just a couple to start with, there is a lot more I could come up with depending on your schools infrastructure.

I had this problem as well here. Was able to sort it by using this powershell login script $user = $Env:USERNAME # Get's curent username $path1 = "c:\Users" # First part of path $path2 = "\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes" # Second part of path $fullpath = $path1 + $user + $path2 # Create full path $file2 = "TranscodedWallpaper" Get-ChildItem $fullpath -Include $file2 -Recurse | Remove-Item # Actual Delete The issue lays with the TranscodedWallpaper file stuck in the users windows themes. This for some reason does not up date when the new desktop image is published to the shared location in the GPO.

We had a problem like this at my school. When any new printer was added to the print server and deployed to an ou. The computers in that ou would not get the printer installed. In the end we found out the issue was being caused by a microsoft security patch (KB3170455). So I would suggest if you have a test machine, see if this patch is installed on it. If so uninstall the patch on the test machine, and put it in a ou your trying to deploy a printer to.

I have done something similar to this is the past, using airsoft equipment. Price seems a bit much considering that I can do a full 48 hour military simulation on a MOD site for the same price. These events are basically designed to cater for people on stag do's and team building events more then anything. If you want to look at doing something on a more regular basis, then take a look at starting up airsoft. Which can be held in either woodlands or urban environments. Airsoft game days take place all around the country virtually every weekend.
