BenQ touch screen and Qcast dongle question

Evening everyone. We were wanting to purchase BenQ65" touch screens to replace our old promethium boards. We've just had a demo but I was left slightly confused as the lady demonstrated something then said something contradictory as she was leaving (I know I could ask them but I don't fancy a sales pitch, I just want a fact)

 

She showed us how we can mirror an ipad via the instaQcast which is software preloaded into the board. As she was leaving she said it will only work with a dongle which we need to purchase, I have also heard through the grapevine that the touch screen doesn't come with the Qcast preloaded, we need to purchase it.

 

Does anyone have these screens that could let me know, did it come with it already on and what was the dongle you had to buy (I'm trying to research but 2 are coming up 'Qcast HDMI streaming dongle' and 'USB wifi dongle' would it be any of them)

We have a few BenQ screens and jut buy a USB WiFi dongle. You can download the InstaQShare apps for iOS and windows to mirror what’s on the device. The only thing you have to download on the screen is the iMirror app which is on the BenQ App store

Thank you, when you have time would you mind sharing of link of the dongle you have or one that is similar, the school has put their faith in me getting them new boards, I would hate to get the wrong thing and dongles are something I have never needed to get at school or home before.

I also bought several wi-fi dongles for some BenQ boards last year. They turned out to be D-Link ones and that the BenQ boards needed a specific chipset on the dongles for them to be seen by the board. Of the 4 I bought from Amazon, I had to return 3 of them as they did not have the C1 chipset that BenQ support said was needed by that model of board. Edited November 28, 2018 by tl82

Hopefully I can shed some light on the subject for you.

 

In order to cast to the screen from an Android device, iOS device, Chromebook, PC or MAC you would be utilising the "InstaQshare" functionality. For this to work you will the devices on the same network. In theory your LAN could be on the same network as your wireless however in most cases the LAN network is separate to any wireless networks. So in most cases you connect the panel to the same wireless network as your devices (though you can configure your network to exist together).

 

I can confirm that InstaQshare comes pre-loaded on the panel. QCast is something completely different and you would only need something like this if you were using an older product without InstaQshare installed or something without any kind of OS (such as a projector or monitor).

 

As for the wireless dongle (which is something that you would need in order to connect the BenQ panel to an existing wireless network) we have made things a bit more simple by having our own dongle. We now have two wireless dongles, below are the interactive panels and which wireless dongle works.
