Microsoft Powerpoint spiking issue - pulling my hair out (and there aint much left!)

I've had this issue with PP2019 only happens when many PowerPoints are open at the same time. Closing all PowerPoints and opening just the one you are using fixes it. I've passed this onto teachers affected and haven't had many complaints but it is a rare issue.

Had this problem last week with one board.

 

Disabled hardware graphics acceleration in PowerPoint and it solved the issue.
