SIMS not opening on mac (Microsoft Remote Desktop)

We are using hosted SIMS and are not able to open on any Macs using Microsoft Remote Desktop. I've added it using remote resources. What happens is, you open the app, launch SIMS.net, it goes through the loading process, then before you get to the SIMS home page, it disappears. The only way I can get it to open is by closing Microsoft remote desktop, re-open and follow the process again. Once clicked on the app, go to WINDOWS along the top bar, and the SIMS home page is there.

 

Sorry this is vague, but I only had around 20 minutes with the said Mac.

I'm having the same problem. Did you manage to work it out?

I think there's some keystroke equivalent to doing an Alt-tab on the remote system. I've had this behaviour with application windows in general when connecting to a remote apps server through the Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac app. Essentially just needing to Alt-tab to put focus on the correct window. The Mac app doesn't deal with window focusing very well.

Did anyone get a fix for this? I'm struggling with a couple of users who cannot bring their focus back to the main screen, infact I can't bring the SIMS window back at all at present. Many thanks

Are the current Remote App windows listed in the menu bar menu? That might be another way to switch focus. Don't have a Mac in front of me to check.

Mac Alt+Tab should work.

I’ve noticed recently or maybe it’s a new setting in the RD app that Mac shortcuts get passed through so Command+C does a copy if you time it right. Otherwise command just simulates the Windows key.

 

Don’t use SIMS but using Mac RD for Engage and it’s brill.

 

Edit: the other thing is from the RD icon at bottom you can right click and select a window to regain focus. You can also choose whether it appears on all Mac screens (virtual - are they called workspaces/desktops) or only a selected one. This is helpful to allow you to work on other things.

 

Occasionally I get a weird screen that won’t respond and double clicking the top menu bar to maximise it helps. Usually an issue when there is a pop up on screen.

Are you using the v8.0 or v10.0 of Microsoft's Remote Desktop App?
