talksr Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Hi there, I am trying to allow access to Paint 3D for staff and pupil users on our Server 2012 system with Ranger, but it seems that an icon for Paint 3D on Windows 10 does not exist. If I log in as administrator, I don't even need to download it from the Store, it just opens and works. However, when I do it as a pupil or teacher user, I get the following: # Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get around this?

That doesn't look like it's installed... What version of w10 is it? Do you do anything like remove apps in MDT?

It is 100% installed as if I go on as Administrator, it comes up straight away. Not using MDT at this site, just Ranger 8 which is getting pretty long in the tooth. They don't have the budget to do anything else at the moment. Windows 10 version 1803 on the system I am testing with.

talksr Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 Does it look like this when you search for it? When signed in as administrator, it looks just like that, but if you go back to my OP, it looks like it does in the start menu there if you are on as any other user.
Joanne Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I get those messages here when AppLocker is blocking an app.... Could be worth a look to see if there is a sneaky GPO blocking it for the user.
clareq Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Check the Event log - Applications and Services Logs - Microsoft - Windows - Applocker. I've had no end of "Oh Yes Of Course" moments from looking at that particular log when something doesn't work
