Adobe CS4 must de-install software after Nov 2018

Good afternoon fellow edugeekers,

 

As a school in 2009 we bought a perpetual Adobe Web Premium CS4 500 Machine School Site Licence. I have recently heard from a supplier that the licensing agreement EEA will no longer exist after November 18 and as such I quote "“As of the End Date, you must de-install all Software licensed under the EEA Agreement and be aware That continued use of expired Creative Cloud licenses is not allowed under the EEA Agreement. “

 

I am not even sure if we have an EEA agreement?

 

I know CS4 is old but it still works and a lot of people are happy with what it does. I don't really want to be buying new software if I can help it.

 

Can anyone else confirm if they have heard this and are still using older versions of CS and what they are doing about it?

We havent heard anything and we use CS5 so might not be a problem for us.

Yea I also heard CS5 branded as well but I am not sure about the whole thing really. As far as I was concerned when we bought it we bought a perpetual licence and they shouldn't be able to go back retrospectively and say you can't use it any longer surely?

It's not a Creative Cloud product, it's perpetual, not "Perpetual until".

Yeah, you'll be fine. They can't sell a product as perpetual and then change that after the fact, as you won't have bought it on those terms. Your supplier is fishing.
