This mainly happens with the apple apps like keynote, garageband etc but when we set the app to automatically install we get the error message "Device does not meet app minimum requirements" however if i set the app up in self service it works when installing it via self service!I need the app installing via the install automatically route though so any ideas?

I had this issue last year when I setup new iPads. I don't think I found a fix but it has something to do with the iWorks apps now being part of the standard IOS install. I will have to setup some more this summer so would like to know if anyone has a fix for this.

Apple now ship iPads with Pages,Keynote, Numbers etc pre installed on the iPad. However these apps wrongly assume they have been installed via a personal Apple ID. You need to enable/force a managed apps command, this will then manage these apps correctly.

You can also wipe the iPad first, then push those managed apps via VPP from the MDM

Meraki has a function that attempts to manage non managed apps, anything similar in Jamf?

https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Apps_and_Software/Managed_and_Unmanaged_Apps

On the App page there are 2 tick boxes:

Make app managed when possible

Make the app managed when managed app requirements are met

Make app managed if currently installed as unmanaged

Manage the app if it is currently installed as an unmanaged app (the user is prompted to allow management on unsupervised devices)
