Hi all

I need to buy some headphones for our computer suite (30 machines).

They need to be cheap (budgets being what they are!) but robust enough to survive being manhandled by 4-11 year olds...

Does anyone have any that they are pleased with and could suggest/recommend?

thanks very much!

If you can stretch to it, get the headphones with braided cables, rather than standard. The cables are far more flexible, yet still far more robust than the standard ones in the cheaper sets. It is worth the extra few pence per unit for the extra longevity that you get from them.

If you are buying a decent number of them, then Rashmian are as competitive as anyone. They are wholesale though, so they won't be particularly interested in selling single units.

Like most consumer electronics and accessories, the headphones are all made in a little group of factories in the Far East anyway, with the branding and premium added when they land in the UK, so it's worth having a little shop around to see if anybody else is selling the same units cheaper elsewhere with different branding on them.

I've never ever had that issue myself. Strange how different schools see different problems.

The problem that we have at the infant school is that historically they have had tower cases with the audio on the top. The PCs are on the desk behind the monitors and the lead makes a kind of N shape. If someone scoots away from the PC they snap the jacks off - either in the headphones or in the PC.
