Getting an error on the Head's Macbook Pro.

Microsoft Word - Word can't print due to a problem with the printer setup.

Seems to have been resolved for some by upgrading to 16.4.1 (180613) even though others say this is the update that caused it...

Others have managed to get some sort of update just by restarting....

Not sure how that works?

Anyway have restarted multiple times and already on 16.4.1 (180613) with no other updates showing available in App Store..

Workaround for now is to close and reopen Word and it will print the first time, but not after that!

The latest Word update currently available from Microsoft was released on 14th June 2018...

You might have to wait a bit longer if this doesn't fix your issue.

Yes, I had already downloaded and installed that update from here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac?redirectSourcePath=%252fen-us%252farticle%252fupdate-history-for-office-2016-for-mac-700cab62-0d67-4f23-947b-3686cb1a8eb7

Unfortunately, unlike the others it does not appear to fix the problem for me (as I was already on that version).

Speaking to the Head, it appears he did some updates this morning and that it was working fine before that. So it appears while updating to that version fixed it for most, for us that update is what broke it... Strange...

Hi

I seem to be suffering from the same error. I have managed to overcome the problem in the short term, by changing the printer driver to a "Generic PostScript Printer" which so far has solved printing issue. but it's only a temporary stop gap until I find a more permanent solution. I am in talks with out MFP provider to see if there are any answers there.

P.S What kind of printer are you sending the print jobs to?

Some of our teachers were having the same issue so I removed office and reinstalled it from the original disc and it resolved the issue. The new Mac Office update doesn’t work, we’re using Bizhub C368 and even removing the printer and resetting doesn’t work. The only method is to remove the office completely and reinstall the older version and do not update.

Kindest regards

J.
