The program can't run on the PC

Hello,I have a problem. When I try to open a Adobe Reader document (PDF) I get an error: The Adobe Reader can't run on your PC.This started after I upgraded from the trial Win 8.1 to the full release of 8.1 a couple of weeks ago. I'm using Adobe Reader DC (2015.0), and everything works fine I've tried uninstalling Office and re-installing. No help. Why does the program give me this pop up every time? Any suggestions? Thanks

Reinstalling office won’t fix it. Reinstalling adobe reader might.

If not try using the Foxit reader instead

Open Reader -> Edit > Preferences, choose "Security Enhanced" category and un-check "Enable Protected Mode at startup".Check if it fixes the issue.If you still experience the problem click here.
