Parents notifying pupil absence

I'm looking at a more efficient way of managing how parents notify pupil absence. Currently, we have the usual 'ring this number and leave a message' and an email to send to. I'm thinking a having a simple Google form and encouraging parents to use that. I think we could gain a number of advantages that way. How do manage at your school? In our case, the MIS (progresso) doesn't really offer anything, so it needs to be GSuite or third party.

Same here. The pastoral staff often like to press for further details, or try to encourage attendance if they judge that that would be appropriate. An online form might just make absence easier.

We use TASC Insight and the parents use the on-line form but we don't have a fraction of the absence issues many of you have. Also have a phone line answer phone for out of hours emergencies which is monitored by a member of staff off-site.
