[windows software] Moving an OVS-ES agreement to another supplier

I am interested to know is it possible to move a 3 year agreement to another supplier? Just I have 2 years left and I feel that the current company I use doesn’t understand the educational sector.

Yep, there is a form you have to sign to authorise the new supplier to host your licenses.

That’s what I thought. On the day of the 45 day renewal confirmation email, I filled in the change of reseller form and emailed the old company of my intentions to move. Today I received an email from previous company saying that I was obligated to continue the contract with them for the remainder.

Did it at my old school. Old network manager was on good terms with the company but left the school under bad terms. Company then wouldn’t even speak to me... quick complaint to Microsoft about the companies appalling service and I was able to move immediately!

Did it when Misco popped. The new supplier provided the form. I think the contract with your supplier is only ever yearly.

Yes it's a straight forward process, there's a form that can be filled in - there maybe a problem with the new supplier matching the pricing of our current supplier though?

Get multiple quotes. I had one quote where they forced the price up for third year renewal - I went elsewhere to another who matched the previous cost.

Is the point of a 3 year agreement not that the pricing stays the same for those 3years. Pricing is guaranteed??

Already had prices back from the new company and the price looks like they have been locked in from the previous years pricing.

Pretty much, but if the reseller differs they're under no obligation to keep the company's cut the same, even if MS's base price doesn't change. You can beat them down on it though.

Absolute rubbish - you can move your agreement at any time. Talk to your new supplier only and cut off all contact with the old one if you so wish.
