Sharp printers

We have a bunch of Sharp MFDs around the place with Papercut. With one of them, if we print colour to the "Follow You" queue (which uses a driver not specifically for our library printer as it has to cover different models) the picture comes out fine. If we print a colour picture directly to the library printer which uses the correct driver, it comes out quite bleached. The colours certainly aren't as bold. We've sat and compared as many settings as we can between the different drivers. It just seems really odd that it's the correct driver which has the problem.

 

Any thoughts please?

What driver do you have on your output queue for this printer? Have you tired printing direct to check what its like with the correct driver?

 

Which model driver you using for your setup and what machines have you got?

Library printer is a Sharp MX-5140N

Odd, both drivers are very similar. If you create a Library2 say and install from scratch and print what are the results like? I wonder if a setting has been tweaked and causing the output to be like that. What is copy quality like, an warning messages (cog icon top middle).

I'll try setting a new queue up and see what happens. Might even try it with the 'wrong' driver and see if it works better. Copy quality is fine, no icons, and an engineer has given it a service recently and the all clear.

Like what? I couldn't see any which would effect quality.

Eco mode within the printer defaults or similar

I've looked all around "Printers" and "Devices" in PaperCut and can't find any settings to do with quality, Eco or otherwise. Where are they please?

Can't tell you exactly what might cause, I've never come across this before. Having a quick look at what is available, make sure watermark isn't set, check colour detection mode, under Filters & Restrictions make sure convert to gray scale isn't on, colour isn't restricted. In the driver check colour management hasn't been fiddled with, try a test print direct from the driver settings, in preferences check Print mode hasn't been changed, Watermark is clear and the colour settings are automatic., standard and no other boxes ticked.
