[1803] Folder redirection broken

Just working on my 1803 image at the moment and having to unpick some of my GPOs to start looking at getting One Drive working. Now that I'm enjoying the loveliness that is Pass Through Authentication, I did however notice an entry in the Event Logs that had me a little concerned. And subsequent following up revealed the following:

After you upgrade to Windows 10, version 1803, the folder redirection on AppData/Roaming is no longer available.

Failed to apply policy and redirect folder "RoamingAppData" to "".

Redirection options=0x1211. The following error occurred: "The folder is not redirectable.".

Error details: "Unspecified error".

Cause

In Windows 10, version 1803, there is an update to make the behavior of folder redirection more consistent for folders that should never be redirected. The change caused an unexpected side effect that makes redirection of AppData/Roaming impossible.

 

Status

Microsoft is investigating the problem and working on a resolution.

Oh. Well, we do redirect this particular folder for Staff but not for students. So this may cause a few issues. I know U-EV is supposed to be the way forward and it's on my radar but I've heard its broke in 1803 so sort of left that for now. Am going to have to investigate the impact of this but I don't think it's a major issue really for us.

Appdata/Roaming is redirecting into OneDrive perfectly fine for us.

I have found that the Desktop, Documents, etc shortcuts in File Explorer and on the Quick Access panel now point to the local user profile instead of being redirected to the %homeshare% location. Nothing I do seems to work
