nicholab Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 In SIMS how would I go about recording early release form School due to servere weather? I would like to have an options of: I am happy for my child to be released from school early no information provided Prep pupil. Or am I better having this in Firefly or Parentmail?
Meldrew Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 We just record this in a spreadsheet, but you may wish to ask the parent how their child will be getting home, eg walk home, parent will collect, etc. Meldrew
PhilNeal Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 You really should get all data into the MIS or you will not be able to easily respond to a parent request for all info.
localzuk Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) Stick it in a User Defined Field in SIMS, with a copy of the consent saved in Linked Documents. Means you're not duplicating data then - which a spreadsheet would be doing. EDIT: Actually, put it in as a parental consent type. Designed for this sort of use. Edited June 4, 2018 by localzuk
MrMat Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 I'd personally just go down the Parental Consent route. Just add an additional tickbox or two and you're done. They can be bulk updated these days as well so it's no additional work etc. Plus Consent plays well with the Parent App so parents can update it via the app the same as they can with the rest of the Data Collection Info.
nicholab Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 Thanks I now set this up in the way suggested.
