Our client is a prestigious and award winning educational establishment located in the South West London area. Their current in-house IT system comprises of a large network across multiple sites, state of the art facilities, including IT Suites and Design Studios and a team of highly experience IT professionals.They are an organisation who really look after their staff and provide the necessary resources for learning and development in the workplace.

They are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated IT Systems Administrator to join them on a full time basis, which would ideally be an experienced IT support professional with a background in IT support and services within an educational environment.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager your focus will be supporting a wide range of technical systems associated with the clients multiple sites. A 3rd line support experience will be important to succeed in the role, as well as the ability to deliver technical training to staff on new and existing developments.

Your day to day duties:

·Delivering support against day to day technical issues and liaising with 3rd party suppliers

·Taking over complex escalated issues passed on from support staff

·Travelling to various sites to conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting and quality assurance measures

·Updating and implementing site security policies, and creating maintenance documentation to

cover multiple site facilities in addition to warranties and contracts

·Taking part in new project planning and development across the whole IT infrastructure

·Coordinating out of hours support for scheduled emergency and staff shortage scenarios

·Working with the IT Manager and key stakeholders to identify new systems and learning tools

·Driving personal continued professional development

The role is varied, challenging and is a great environment for growth and progression. Desired skills and experience:

·Strong knowledge of firewall and filtering, maintenance and support

·Virtual network and platform experience, including servers, storage and backups

·Ability to demonstrate strong management of IT support functions, support staff and multiple networks

·Good knowledge of IT best practises, statutory requirements and standards

·A background in server management; Windows Server experience in particular

·Large scale IT management experience, to be able to manage a large number of users

·Additional experience with data storage, email services, networks, educational software packages and printers would be beneficial

Technical Knowledge:

·DCHP, DNS, Group Policy, LDAP wireless and VPN experience

·Active Directory setup

·Virtualisation experience (VMware)

·Apple and Windows experience

·Firewalls and filtering

·Cloud and on-premise email systems

Our client is also offering training packages to increase competence and proficiency in the role which in addition to the support from your Operations Manager will present several avenues for skill building and development.
