Main Duties · To maintain, update and repair the school’s IT Network and Server Infrastructure · To perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of the network · To implement Network technologies to improve efficiency and security · To evaluate network and server performance and to develop improvement strategies · To organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance around peak activity periods · To monitor and maintain data backups, appliance data and device configurations · To provide technical direction to co-workers and students on computer and network usage · To assist the IT team in providing support for student’s personal laptops and mobile devices · To assist the IT team in providing support for staff · To support and work with other senior members of the IT Team to complete work · To keep abreast of modern developments and product initiatives related to the main job purpose · To provide technical assistance to support events within the school as required · To provide advice and support across the group of schools as required · Any other such task that may be reasonably requested Person Specification · Proven experience as a Network Technician or relevant position · Outstanding diagnostics, problem-solving and analytical skills · Appreciation of quality control · A confident and clear communicator · Good knowledge of LAN/WAN and WLAN Networks · Good knowledge of TCP/IP / VLAN and other network technologies · Hands-on experience with Wireless technologies · Hands-on experience with common software and hardware · Hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server · Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line · Flexible · Hardworking, committed and committed to providing a quality service · Good time keeping · A pleasant, courteous manner and good communication skills · Able to work with a wide range of people and to remain calm under pressure · Able to plan and prioritise work in consultation with the IT Manager Package Salary: Salary based on Roedean NTS Points 27–30(£25,301-£28,072) per annum. Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday –Friday (8am-4pm) Holidays: 22 days per annum rising to 27 days after 5 years’ service to be taken in school holidays.
