Seating Plan software?

Hello,

 

We have recently opted out of class charts to save some money. We went with another company but they closed down their doors before we could set anything up. Do you use any good seating plan software in your school? We would be leaning towards it being very simple but it must have SIMS integration.

We use MINT class, seems to work very well indeed.

We're in the process of setting up MINT class, but are a little put off by the amount of data it pulls out of SIMS. We don't see how it can get past GPDR.

I've only been peripherally involved, but the impression I've gotten is "not if you want it to work."

 

Maybe @synaesthesia can shed some more light onto this as they've, presumably, been using it longer than we have.

Ours goes through groupcall and is pulling data from:

Assessment, Attendance, Behaviour, Groups, Persons, Photos, Timetable, AssessmentResults

Nothing more than I would expect, as it uses all that information to generate the plans and of course map them out.

I had a look through their website about GDPR. Nothing so far- are you aware if they are putting something in place? I like the way it looks..

Controlled access with 2FA >> paper plans left all over the place = "getting past GDPR"

Yes, both from within MintClass and, in future, through Groupcall's new interface

 

I had a look through their website about GDPR. Nothing so far- are you aware if they are putting something in place? I like the way it looks..

 

They will be a processor under contract with you, GDPR is covered in the contract. They do not gather data from users or pupils.

 

We've had it a few years now and are happy with it's development over that time. The development team are very good at responding to ideas and suggestions.

Does it have to be browser based? SchoolLock is what we use and only talks to SIMS.

There is a seating plan tool in the new version of 4Matrix (4Matrix Infinity) if your school uses that. I believe its not fully available yet but in beta, i have installed it but not had a great deal of time to play the seating plan part yet. It looks really good though. Edited May 10, 2018 by DSapseid
