The successful candidate will provide technical support on the ICT hardware and software of the school and its maintenance, and if required visit to other Trust schools. And applicants must be able to attend the interview on 18 May (Friday)Duties and responsibilities:Desktop, Application and Network Support

  • Installation, maintenance, integration/configuration and/or troubleshooting of ICT system, network equipment and Infrastructure, PCs, applications, AV equipment, projectors, third party software, peripherals
  • Basic PC hardware repairs and upgrades, hardware and application deployment, and replacement of consumables such as toner, paper and mice etc.
  • Support teaching staff in the use of applications (such as Google App) as well as equipment and devices in assemblies and meetings, and in classrooms
  • Provide 2nd line level support, priorities daily support tasks, response and follow-up support requests
  • User management, and give advice on compatibility of hardware, applications and user requirements
  • Support day-to-day operations of Network Infrastructure, Wireless system, Print management, mobile devices, helpdesk, and its documentations

Maintenance and Security

  • Implement and give improvement advice on maintenance of the school's backup, anti-virus protection and security procedures
  • Maintain documentations including system manuals, schedules, equipment inventories, order forms and records etc.
  • Basic IT Procurement and its documentation
  • Support for the school's library system, and catering system
  • Liaise with third party service providers to ensure effectiveness
  • Assist with updating the school's website and intranet

Strategy, Planning and People Management

  • Make sure the ICT team achieve its highest performance and meet the operational standards, and fulfil the needs and aims of the school
  • Assist with the research of developments for the ICT service and their implementation
  • Identify failing systems and suggest solutions
  • Give upgrade advice on the school’s Wireless system
  • Take part of ICT team induction, and user training for academic and support staff
  • See yourself as part of the school, a bigger team
  • Follow the Health and Safety guideline and instructions, regularly review the updates and report to the line manager if there is potential hazard
  • You may also be asked to perform additional, or alternative tasks, by your Line Manager

Personal Qualifications and experience

  • At least 2-year ICT experience, preferable within school environment
  • Work knowledge on network and wireless (DNS, DHCP, IP, LAN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Fibre, 802.11 Wi-Fi, telnet, SSL, Switch), hardware (printers, scanners, digital cameras), print management, applications, configuration, server (2012, 16), Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10), Office 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy and User account management
  • Well-organised, Good time management, task management and problem-solving skills, able to prioritise and handle tasks under a busy environment and in a timely manner
  • Good communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, can work independently as well as a good team player
  • Good sense of access rights, confidentiality, and data protection
  • Sense of continuous development and learning (with evidence)
  • Knowledge on the following will be an advantage: Meraki (for Apple and Windows devices), CCTV, SIMS, Salamander, Google Apps, Papercut, wireless, filtering systems, network infrastructure, use of HTML and PHP, Hyper-V, CMS, or health and safety policy

The position offers a grade 7 salary of £21K progressing over time to £23K. An additional allowance of up to £1,750 per annum is available for a suitably experienced candidate. You will also enjoy 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
