Bagpuss66 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 This has probably been covered before but is there a way of stopping students making multiple copies of desktop icons in windows 7 . I should imagine it can be done in GPO.
Norphy Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Probably the easiest way is to redirect their desktop to a location that's read-only for the students.
Oaktech Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Yeah, lock that desktop. I have it locked for everyone except office staff here. EVERYONE!
DJ-1701 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Probably the easiest way is to redirect their desktop to a location that's read-only for the students. ^^This I create a read only read access folder in the workstation policy and use the student user policy to redirect to that local folder for the desktop. I find it is best to do it that way rather than a UNC path, just in case the UNC path can't be found and they get a temporary desktop that they are able to write to.
