Meru / Apple iPad connection issues

We got a fairly old Meru network (Wireless N) and we seem to be unable to connect newer iPads to it. Using a WPA2 preshared key, whenever you type the key in the iPad insists the key is wrong. You can *sometimes* connect if you select 'other network' and type all the details in manually but it's unreliable.

 

Has anyone seen anything similar ? Any suggestions ?

We have the same issue. Apple changed some settings a long time ago and they don't like the single cell setup.

We was told about a fix some time back using a new controller but when we looked into it, they had stopped support.

Ouch, can you give me any more info, links or suchlike ? I'd like some ammo before I go an tell the Head of Training that the fancy new kit he's bought won't work until we replace the wireless network

Yes, I've just found that. Odd, I only found it after an external search not by searching the forums.

We had the same issues with our iPads and Meru too. We spent hours on calls to the support provider and Fortinet themselves and got nothing. Only option we were presented with was "upgrade wireless points"

Seemed to have got it working-ish. What seems to work is to make sure the SSID isn't hidden and instead of picking the SSID off the presented list, click on 'other' and add the details manually. Will sometimes come back with incorrect key error but if you persist it seems to work eventually.

Once had a similar problem with Apple devices connecting to our Meraki system. Disabling 802.11r (or switching it to 'Adaptive' mode) seemed to cure it.
