Guided access woes.

Guided Access isn't in restrictions, its in Accessibility. How do you block access to settings entirely?

You can do account settings and restrictions. If it's in Accessiblity it maybe that you can't block that.

Okaydokey, hopefully this might help someone in the same boat:

 

1, Find the Guided Access afflicted device in Lightspeed

2, Clear all queued activities

3, Enable Lost mode

4, Hard reboot iPad

5, Fingers crossed, Lost mode will kick in. If not, reboot iPad again.

6, Once in Lost mode, I've found that the Guided Access will eventually turn itself off. You may need to keep entering passcodes until it turns off, but I suspect it's more of a waiting game.

7, Turn off Lost mode in Lightspeed.

No way of turning off Guided Access that I'm aware of using Lightspeed, but if there is a way, I'm all ears!

You can block access to settings and/ or restrictions using Meraki.

The settings app can not be blocked using ANY mdm...

Not sure why that would work with yours - it certainly does n't kill GA with our setup.

This is an old post, but I just wanted to say that using Apple Configurator to put it into Single App mode and back out again has worked for me today.

 

Also, I had to download a Supervision Identity from JAMF and add it to Apple Configurator to allow it to update the iPad. I had somehow missed that option previously and I think that will make apple configurator much more useful going forward.
