IT Support Contact Poster?

Hello,

 

No matter how many times I tell people to details to contact IT support staff seem to "forget" to use the official channels. I am thinking about a poster to put next to phones and on noticeboards in work rooms. However my design skills are next to none! I was wondering if anyone else has something like this would they mind sharing please? It will give me some inspiration!

I’m sorry to say been there done that. Still no improvement. I have exhausted all possible avenues that I can think of and welcome any suggestions also

 

I have adverts all over the place.

 

desktop wallpaper with the email address to log calls on.

 

A direct shortcut on their desktop that opens webmail and inserts the address in the to field

 

A footnote on all my emails that states the easiest way to log a support call is to email this address.

 

Tried to get SLT on board and they will email and direct staff the correct way but are hypocrites as they are the worse culprits

 

With all that They still don’t go through the correct channels.

 

I have run out of polite ways of advertising and gone for the non subtle approach of if you don’t log it, it doesn’t get done. I regularity use the excuse I’m busy on another job and to email me the job

If anyone rings and it's not emergency issue I always politely ask them to put all details in an email and send to help desk. Usually works.

 

Plus my memory is rubbish so I always tell people to email so it reminds me and it's been logged.

Simple answer: Stop doing it any other way. By doing it that way, you are giving them no reason to stop. Stand up, be strong. Make sure your systems are easy to use and log (ie a helpdesk with email piping.) And only do those tickets. It's tough to start, but the message soon gets around. It wont win you friends, until they realise you work faster and more efficient this way.
