Hi All,

As we know, there are hundreds of Apps to choose from, but iPads have now been around for quite a while in the classroom so I would have thought you may have found some Apps that are must haves for teaching and learning.

Really interested to see what you come up with....

My wife uses Duolingo for all the kids in her class now, they have a teacher/student feature that can be centrally managed by her now.

When I was teaching I tried loads of different apps and tools, but the best by far was simply Kindle, hooked up to the smart board, and we would all read along together at the end of the day and highlight our favourite passages and quotes.

All of our iPADs use something called Safari more than any other app.....

We've tried a lot of others but our iPADs just become expensive research tools. We don't have a lot, but will be looking into getting more Chromebooks then iPADs moving forward.

Sounds like you've bought lots of iPads without any teacher CPD......

Our teachers use iDoceo for a lot of lesson plans and seating plans. We also have SimpleMind (mind mapper) and a bunch of MS Office apps - basically those that link to Office 365 i.e. Word/Excel/OneDrive and more recently Teams.

We also use Airserver Connect so that they can broadcast their iPad screens using Airserver installed on the teachers PC's.

The most successful schools using iPads have the following base set of apps..

Course Creation and assignment - iTunes U- Free

Assessment/Marking/Reward - Showbie/Seesaw/Class Dojo - Both have free versions

Collaborative/ Interactive - Padlet/Nearpod/Socrative - All are free

iPad Interactive Whiteboard - Explain Everything

iPad Interactive Audio/Text Books - Book Creator

All Apple's Creative/Productivity Apps are free

Not really, we've got around 20 iPAD's but they were bought predominantly to use with the online subscriptions that the school bought into it. Some staff use third-party apps but it's not on a daily basis.

Great List. Explain Everything does seem to come up quite a lot as well as AirServer.

Does anyone else use anything other than AirServer to broadcast their iPad to the PC?
