Its no wonder we're not highly regarded when they post complete rubbish consisting of grammital errors does make you laugh.

 

Not quite sure whether this is just ironic or if the mistakes are deliberate but none of this (either on the TES web site or Edugeek) helps.

 

I think it's reasonable to say that there are good and bad technicians and good and bad teachers (with all shades in between) and then just leave it at that otherwise we do end up descending to the level of small children calling each other names!

Say what you like about someo of the comments on TES...but atleast they're mod's as hung up on the use of mildly colurful language. OR as i like to say life-experience language. +1 to them on that score.

One notes that his only experience teaching in schools was a 6 year stint 1965-71 - very relevant! I don't imagine they had many IT Techies back then.

Oh and he's currently a partner in the company Camsoft, it just so happens that i had to install some of the software they supply a few months ago. Guess what... The installation instructions didn't work, had to work out a way of getting it to work on CC3 ( without totally relaxing security ) myself. Worse was finding out that using it I can create students in the same class with the same username and password, how's that going to work?

 

Still maybe he's opinion of techies stems from some not so good ones that he's worked with rather than a lot of good ones he hasn't.

The service ICTstaff described is better than what we get now.

 

Yeah we can talk to our techincians; but since they talk out of their arses and they are always sitting down, the responses are muffled at best.

 

Either that school is in a bad way or he is serioiusly misguided..

I upset several people at a friends informal "get together"/house warming..she told me they were all trainee teachers.

 

So, we got into the swing of it, then I smiled and looked across, and asked "SO..tell me guys..why do you all want to work for only half the year then? A real job too much for you?"

 

Bearing in mind my missus is an ex-education tech as well, we were rather enjoying it..

I love these threads on TES just makes me chuckle. And our ict teachers love reading them and thinking just how wonderful our network must be compared to these staff.
