mikemcsharry Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Hello I work with a school who have moved away from promethean to other technologies (Clevertouch). They had a combination of Activ Primary and activ inspire. we've discovered that those users who never upgraded to activ inspire have been able to export their files to powerpoints. Those users who did upgrade to activ inspire have found that firstly activ inspire files cannot be accessed again by activ primary and secondly activ inspire does not have an export function. Clearly they don't want all that work lost. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any help
mikemcsharry Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 Browsing around the internet this does seem to be a bit of 'lock in' by Promethean. Best option I've worked out so far is to add OneNote2013 as a 'printer' to a PC with Activ Inspire and print to that.. Obviously lose the interactivity, but can start again from there

phillyrovers Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 ActivInspire has got an export features, (to .iwb, .pdf, .jpg and .bmp) but only if you have got the fully licensed professional version (i.e. you have put an ActivInspire Serial key into the registration window). The Personal edition of ActivInspire DOES NOT have any export features. Professional Primary look and feel: (notice Export feature) Personal Edition: (notice NO Export feature) There is no "lock In" as being described above, and nor have we "put an end to it" either. If you feel that you have the Professional Edition, and are missing the Export feature, please contact our support teams via: https://support.prometheanworld.com/contact/ They will be more than happy to work with you to ensure that everything is functioning as it should be and that you have no functions missing where you should be entitled to them. The copies in the school are all licenced, configured with serial numbers before the boards went. They've all been installed using 'I've come from activ primary' on the install option. None of the users have the export option. I'll fill in the form and see if we can move from there. The IWB export is probably the only one that'll be useful as they have a lot of multi page stuff.
Paid_Peanuts Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I think there is some Genee Vision software IRC which can open Promethean or Smart files. Site license is cheap also - might be worth checking out then you can point staff in that direction when opening files on your new interactive panels [emoji3]
