witch Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 A HD-DVD player, A Lightscribe DVD writer, a Wii Fit board and oh so much more currently sitting somewhere (probably a cupboard or the loft) gathering dust... I've got a Wii somewhere too - don't even know where it is. I think we used it about 4 times. Someone gave me a Lightscribe DVD writer - no idea what to do with it - cant even sell it on ebay
Katy Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 CDRW drive when they were new - it was a 4x HP drive, cost £120 and spat out failed disks like it was some sort of party trick. Fast forward to DVD and I didn't learn, got a 4x DVD writer for £175 which then proceeded to spit out failed disks like it was in competition with the CDRW from several years earlier. Fast forward to BluRay and... I did learn! Waited until they were around the £70 mark and it's never failed a disk
googlemad Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I still have TWO XBOX 360 HD-DVD players! One I paid full whack for but got some free HD-DVD movies with and the other I just bought because they were flogging them off for £25 or so brand new to get rid of them. It'll be an antique one day... Will always miss my Epson R200 printer, compatible inks were dirt cheap (even though you needed SIX of them!) and you could print onto CDs/DVDs with it even if it was slightly fiddly at times!

Know what you mean. I was gutted when mine gave up the ghost. Don't have a printer at home now but loved the Epson.

Yeah, I remember by old Epson that could print onto discs. What a party trick that was!
LeMarchand Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I bought Palm pilot years ago which I never used. Still sat in the drawer at home. I used mine fairly extensively until I someone gave me an HP Windows Mobile machine. I once brought a windows phone... having already had one before! I thought it had to have improved but I was sooo wrong i still prefer window phone 8.1 to android/ios it just works if there were still apps for it id still be on it Still using my Windows Phone and loving it - apart from the lack of updates to the few apps I use and MS giving up on the system. I recently noticed this: lightscribe DVD recorder. Did a few disks and realised the time it took wasnt worth the result. I was pleased with the disks I did. Shame they cost so much more and are now hard to find. My Stupid Stuff? Sure there's lots, but I'm going to lead with my monthly comic sub - if I won the lottery, I'd have a hard time clearing the backlog of reading .
LincolnE Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I bought an old Polaroid camera about 3-4 years back. I think I've used it... twice in that time xD It's a fun niche, but can't replace digital stuff these days.
sted Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I was pleased with the disks I did. Shame they cost so much more and are now hard to find. think i have a few tubs at home tbh i think i burned 2 when i had a lightscribe drive (hp laptop came with it)
witch Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) You should all check out how much these things are going for on ebay. It is interesting what sells - I've become a reseller in a small way and I have learnt a lot. The strangest things do sell! I have some lightscribe disks up for sale as we speak Edited February 21, 2018 by witch
LeMarchand Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Sades K8 Keyboard. Didn't read the description/reviews properly: it's not mechanical, so the keycaps I bought aren't any use. Also the instructions in the manual are bogus. Looks like you're stuck with a rainbow effect that can only change in brightness and make it "breathe". Plus it's US layout. Not bad apart from that, but disappointing.
Foresthippy Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 think i have a few tubs at home tbh i think i burned 2 when i had a lightscribe drive (hp laptop came with it) Fortunately, sharpies work just as well on lightscribe disks and they do on standard ones :-)
6Foot2 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 ...when 'Fidget Spinners' were a thing, I bought some on Ebay - I think they came in sets of 2 and I bought 2 sets. They weren't very expensive, but when they arrived I discovered that the bearings spat out a load of grease... Link: Fidget Spinner [No grease!]
