Gongalong Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Hi folks, Any clever peeps out there any ideas as to what r3---sn-aigl6ned.gvt1.com is? It appears to be hosted by Google, that's as much as I can tell. Spotted that a staff member's laptop has so far pulled 90GB from it today. Will check with the staff member at the end of the school day, as they're currently teaching. Thanks
ChickenDhansak Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Hope this helps https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=what+is+gvt1.com%3F&oq=what+is+gvt1.com%3F&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l2.6399j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 1
Gongalong Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 Thanks. Yes, I checked in Google, but it wasn't very revealing. Google Video, so YouTube possibly? But 90GB on YouTube?!
ZeroHour Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Its pretty awful if they are using it for updates etc and having such a strange domain. I dont understand why they wouldnt make it clear.
Gongalong Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 Curiously, it looks like the PC is downloading the Google Earth client over and over, several times a minute. This is the link it keeps going to: http://r3---sn-aigl6ned.gvt1.com/edgedl/earth/client/GE7/release_7_3_1/googleearth-win-pro-7.3.1.4505-x64.exe Will go and check the laptop in a few minutes!
Gongalong Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 And now another staff laptop has started doing it. Problems with the Google Earth updater I suspect!
