I used the free version of Risevision and linked it to a Google Slides doc that the staff update. Implemented it in September, had one call out since and that was because somebody unplugged it. Effortless, incredibly easy to manage and as it's a Google slides doc to be edited, staff find it a breeze to do what they want with.

SOrry to be a bit dim here... I have been asked to look at the free version of Risevision and use our Google drive as the storage area..... but completely clueless about how to get the link into the Risevision presentation - it says incorrect format....it is obviously looking for a jpg rather than a sharing link.

Can someone give me a started for 10 on how to edit the url so it will work ?

I like Xibo, the UI isn't the best but I wouldn't say it's complicated to do anything. I also find reasonably reliable.

My only gripe is it's a shame they've pushed it down the Docker route with the new version. It's a bit of a faff to set up without using Docker (and even with using Docker it seems a faff especially as they don't seem to like running on VMs for obvious reasons without some trickery).

Agreed, still looking at an easy way to back it up.

How have you found it with using docker since?

Are you running it on a linux install e.g. Ubuntu server?

I never got it to work with Docker, so just put it on the back burner for a bit as our existing older install is still working without issue :)

I've tried this week at home and got it working on a docker install on Ubuntu. I have no proper understanding of docker though, which is why I'm tempted with the cloud version to be honest.

This still working for you or are you now finding you are unable to modify templates linking to Google Slides anymore?

Hi there, not sure what you want to use the digital signage for but i've just started using ScreenCloud. It runs off an Amazon Fire TV Stick and is web based. I've got it running a Google Slides presentation with a Calendar and Date / Time etc but you can use Youtube videos, links to your website etc. Might be worth a look. Cost £300 for the year including the cost of buying the fire TV stick. I couldnt find a cheaper option that works so easily. Hope it may be of use.
