Hi there, this could be a driver issue. The other issue I have encountered tends to be if the machines HDD is configured in RAID mode and the RST driver isnt correct. I normally switch them over in BIOS to AHCI as the OS is being rebuilt anyway. I would download the latest drivers for that machine and any others and then fully regenerate the boot image and try again. I have 24H2 deploying through MDT without issue. Hope you find the solution.

Netsupport DNA or Classroom.Cloud
K-ITS replied to Jobos's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Hi there, I have been using Classroom.Cloud for some time, having previously been a DNA user. DNA is better currently for inventry and remote control for windows devices but Classroom.Cloud works well on Chromebooks and windows devices and they are slowly trying to add feature parity to it. The monitoring is quite configurable but isnt AI based so you will get lots of false alarms but you can now delete anything that doesnt need to be kept. I have found it useful for the chromebooks for keyword monitoring and it has a CPOMs integration if you use that service. It's definitely worth pursuing as if you have chromebooks it is a good option. -
Hi there, we have found that the entry panels occasionally do this if there has been power issues. We resolve it by either unplugging the ethernet cable at the switch or on the back of the entry panel (you will need a Torx screwdriver to undo the unit but it is a simple ethernet port at the back) It has worked for us every time as it forces the net2 server to reacknowledge the panel. Alternatively if you have access to the config utility or the net2 software you can choose the panel and click to reinstate. Normally however it is a case of unplugging and re-plugging it in and then the reader comes back to life. I hope it all works for you.

Good morning, we currently use Classroom.Cloud for monitoring for our PCs and Chromebooks and it works well, but we also have DNA installed on all our Windows PCs as I find the remote control function works far better at this time (I think they are working on it...) It is worth speaking to your account manager about if there is anything they can do for you regarding licensing as they are trying to get everyone on Classroom Cloud and it is being actively updated. You can run the two together, just probably not a good idea to use the remote control function on both at the same time.

Hi, It should be under Admin Console > Devices > Chrome > Settings > OU > General. If you set a custom wallpaper and theme colour I dont think they can change it from there.

I've set it up in 2 schools with minimal fuss, you just need access to a few settings if you were looking at emails etc. We use the free version and it has suited our current need. For creating classrooms and allocating staff etc if you dont want to learn GAM then I use a setup by Goldy Arora called Classright which is very straightforward and helps me manage the classes. https://www.goldyarora.com/guides/classright His website is full of setup guides as well which are really helpful.

Just to make everyone aware, if you have an issue with Duracell Batteries it is down to the Baby-Safe side. They apply a coating which makes the battery taste unpleasant so children dont swallow them but it is a thin layer that affects many products and does cause some items to refuse them. I found if you give them a quick wipe with some Sticky stuff remover or equivalent they tend to work. It is a very frustrating thing but if you have some that dont work its worth a try. I've had this issue with an Airtag and with some Hue remotes at home.

Hi, we recently moved over and yes the communication is patchy at times before the process begins. Once you have signed and sealed you get passed on unless you want to buy more obviously. If your migration isnt planned for a few months they will just allocate you according mostly to their schedule. Once you are closer you will start to receive more communication from the Account Migration team and it takes a few weeks as they stagger it all. I wouldnt worry too much, but it is worth getting your current MIS in order for when it all begins and letting your staff know you will be moving and any benefits you think they will have from using it over your current MIS. It's an unusual process and we found a few hiccups that took a while to sort, but some of it is people putting things in the wrong places. Their communication does seem relatively faceless after the sales process but once a date is arranged it ramps up a bit. Its worth speaking to your current MIS support provider as well as they may be able to offer advice to you, especially if they are continuing to support you when you move over.

Hi there, as far as I know, if you ask a teacher who is already in the class to add you they can and then you should be able to go in and access the sheet (the password sheet will be stored in the creator / teachers Google Drive in a Classroom folder) and then you should be able to edit it to change passwords once you have access, however it sounds like you just need access to the Year 6 Shared Drive so you can access the spreadsheet. With regards to Google Classroom, unless you set them up or are invited in you dont have access to them as it is a seperate entity in that respect to Google Workspace.... unless they have changed things recently....

I use Videk (www.videk.co.uk), I've never had an issue with their service or their cables and they have multiple colours and sizes available.

Is it worth an Upgrade - Discussion for the Future
K-ITS replied to Warwick_Tech's topic in Wireless Networks
Hi, obviously everyone will have their own opinion on which Wifi system to use and why, but if you are happy with your unifi setup you would probably want to look at a rolling replacement to upgrade to the U6 Pro or enterprise across your environment. The U6-Pro also meet the DFE recommended standards for Wifi being Wifi 6 so you can use that as a bargaining tool to get the cash for new APs (Thats what I did so we could begin our rolling replacements). They will adopt into your current environment so it wouldnt be a case of breaking or adapting your entire network, however WPA1 I have always been told is unsecure and WPA2 or 3 is recommended. I went for 2 as some much older devices dont like WPA3 but Radius is the better option in general. If you use a Cloud Key or Dream Machine to manage your APs you can setup Guest and Staff Networks and apply AUPs which helps to meet the new KSCIE regulations as you can seperate your traffic slightly and obviously block any devices you know havent been provided your key. Hopefully that helps? -
Help with Stange Display Port/HMDI issue
K-ITS replied to mdrabble's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Further to peoples mentions about Powerpoint, if when they go to Slideshow and the Show Presenter View is Ticked that is when our screens generally do this (ours are setup on Elitedesk 800G2 with DP to HDMI adaptors as well) so if the user unticks this box it keeps its settings ok and works faultlessly. I tried looking for a GPO to disable this by default but there isnt one so if it is your problem you just need to ask staff to untick that box or else be prepared for the screen to switch modes. -
If your school uses Google Workspace it may be part of the OU policy that they cannot use Password sync Google Domain > Admin > Devices > Chrome > Settings > Users and Browsers > Security If they are signed into the browser and it isnt allowed in there then the function will not work.

Google drive folders vanishing, except when loaded by subject leader
K-ITS replied to dgsmith's topic in Cloud Services
CTRL+F5 tends to do the trick as mentioned in the thread linked. It has to be the way Google caches their pages, you could maybe change the cache size in Group Policy if you wanted to test that but I have tended to steer people towards using Google Drive for Desktop as *touch wood* I havent had anyone come to me to say they have experienced the same issue. As folders become bigger as people adopt the system more I think the problem will only get worse using Chrome. -
Paxton Net2 IPV6 Intercom Video Feed/Routing Issue
K-ITS replied to supra21's topic in Wired Networks
We are still IPV4 across the school as well so I feel your pain. The only thing IPV6 is the Paxton intercom system and the entry monitors. The new Dell switches dont have MAC address filtering on them? It sounds like there is a configuration within the Dell switches that is causing your issue. Apologies I cant be of more help. we have all of our video panels routed through several switches back to the server and they work fine for the most part. -
Paxton Net2 IPV6 Intercom Video Feed/Routing Issue
K-ITS replied to supra21's topic in Wired Networks
Hi there, do you have any old small switches anywhere that might not support IPV6? If the traffic hits them it may be what knocks it off? We have all of our switches (a mix of Netgear, Unifi and TP-Link...) all set to enable IPV6 but no other config. All of them are only a few years old however. -
Good morning, I think you need to allow installation of the Play Store in the organisation settings and then it will let you install apps.

[ipad] Redeploying Legacy iOS9 iPads - opinions
K-ITS replied to DavR's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi, in my experience CEX is hit and miss with regards to their grading. It really does depend on the store. What you would need to be careful of is trying to trade in more than 2 at a time. They knock the prices down quite a bit from what you see online for what they consider a bulk purchase. I trade all of my excess tech into CEX as the pricing is pretty much guaranteed on one of each thing, but I dont trade my work stuff there. -
Hi +1 for Classright. I have used it this year to move all of my school over. It is very easy to use and saved me countless hours. The Add Student function also pushes them into the classroom without having to accept an invite. Its completely free as well. I have cleaned up the mess left by Wonde and will never go back.

Hi there, welcome! I have run into issues with USO AutoUpdate before and generally creating a new Administrator account and trying to run it from there appeared to fix the issue for me. It must be down to a permissions issue. I hope you get it resolved.

Have you Seen the Dream Machine Pro? Think it has the USG as part of it and much better throughput. I havent used it myself but may be worth considering? https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-routing-switching/products/udm-pro

How to apply Google Chrome Education License to Chromebooks
K-ITS replied to sarge's topic in Cloud Services
Hi, as long as you have got confirmation of the licences, when you enroll them it auto applies a licence. For some reason they dont tell you how many you have on the Admin Console. You just get an email from your licence supplier and a confirmation they have been applied and thats it. To enroll a Device you press CTRL+ALT+E once you have joined a wireless network. You should see the licence agreement change slightly and then it will ask you for enterprise enrollment. You then need to sign in with an email address that has Enrollment Permissions allocated and Once signed in it will enroll and add itself to your devices list. Thats what all of ours have done for me. Hope it helps.
