Card Payments in Schools

I have been asked to investigate a card machine for the school to use when we sell uniform to the parents to save them having to get cash out or have a cheque book.

 

I don't really want to get a proper card machine as they are expensive are realistically we are only going to need it heavily in July & August when parents purchase new uniform for next year.

 

Has anyone used iZettle? Looks pretty good from first glance, £0 per month and then a small percentage per transaction.

No option to link this into a catering system etc? Parents pay with ParentPay and they just receive the goods from you etc? Same way a trip etc would be paid

Were debating changing out cashless provider at the minute so we dont want to commit to anything with one provider. We currently take payments for trips in cash......

A card machine isn't that expensive. Monthly fee plus per transaction fee.

 

Paypal machines are pretty economical. Might be worth a look.

We are currently investigating moving over to SIMS Agora, and I believe it has the option built in to allow parents to purchase items through the online portal.

Our catering company has an iZettle paired with a Samsung tablet for our Sixth Formers. Works well.
