I got hooked when it released on PC last year, but I never made it through the first year in game. I've tried going back to my old save, but I'm just too far removed from that playthrough and can't remember anything. So I might start again soon :)

I've been meaning to get it for my missus, she played Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing so much on the GameCube, loved building her farms, and then getting upset when she hadn't played for a while so had to do lots of weeding :)

I find it really relaxing to play, and it's nice to enjoy a game where you're not constantly shooting people. My missus is away this weekend so looking forward to sinking plenty more hours in!

I agree @denium it is relaxing to play. I saw it on PC, but decided to get it for my Switch instead, I am pleased that I did, and although some of the controls are obviously better on the PC with the mouse (for clicking crops to harvest or rocks to mine, I think in all, it is a great game to be able to take out of the office and into the lounge, or hook up the Switch to the TV and play on the big screen, and as it is family friendly with the kids running around in the evening I can't do that with many other games.

Im currently in my first winter and currently have redesigned my farm to completely use sprinklers so i dont need to water. next step is to start the fruit tree farm and the animals.

Has anyone completely removed all trees and grass from their farm? Do they all re-spawn when the seasons change? Grass is important when you have animals (with a silo), so I don't want that to disappear and I don't want to have to go out the farm to harvest wood (except the secret wood to the south-west of the farm for hardwood). At the moment, I replant most of the seeds that fall from trees where they fall in my farm, but eventually when I need more space I'm going to have to reduce the amount of trees and grass.

Grass comes back after winter. Trees don't. I had a nightmare when I accidentally cut down all the maple trees on my farm and had to go hunting for a tree in the forest to get a seed from...

Might be a bit late but.....just got back into the game.

Building a massive farm. Got all the way to the bottom of the mines yesterday.

So many hours wasted. 😂
