Rob_D Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Southern trains going though Horsham are cancelled or delayed this morning
elsiegee40 Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 For those fancying a ride on the Emirates Air Line cable car over to the O2 (Millennium Dome): Show your show badge at the ticket office to get a discounted price of £2.50 instead of £4.50 https://tfl.gov.uk/campaign/cable-car-and-excel-exclusive-rate
elsiegee40 Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 And @Dos_Box would like to remind people that hotel door key cards don’t work on the DLR. 1
foofighterjim Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 And @Dos_Box would like to remind people that hotel door key cards don’t work on the DLR. @Dos_Box; rough night or not a morning person??
Dos_Box Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 @Dos_Box; rough night or not a morning person??It was a ' reaching into my pocket to get oyster card and picking the wring thing' moment. The card reader makes an interesting noise!
elsiegee40 Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 Words cannot express how much I hate TfL at this precise moment. Signal failure on the DLR while I’m on a train for the second night running
tg12 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Words cannot express how much I hate TfL at this precise moment. Signal failure on the DLR while I’m on a train for the second night running Heard that on the tannoy as I was crossing central on the Tube. What a nuisance for you!
elsiegee40 Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 (edited) Dos_Box and whatever bits of the team are in the area will be breakfasting in “The Minories” from 8am. It’s right next to Tower Gateway DLR... a two minute walk from Tower Hill underground and anyone taking that route to BETT is welcome to join us. You get a seat on the DLR if you join at Tower Gateway and don’t have to change at Canning Town Edited January 26, 2018 by elsiegee40
elsiegee40 Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 Problems on the DLR. They’re advising people to get bus 147 from Canning Town
Max_Power Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Best way to get to Canning Town from Euston? If DLR is broke? Euston - London Bridge on Northern Line then London Bridge to Canning on Jubliee? Then Bus from Canning to Excel? Says on web that issue on DLR is before Canning Town between Bank and Poplar?

elsiegee40 Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 After 3 days of DLR tribulations, I have decided on Jubilee Line to North Greenwich and the Emirates Air Line cable car over the river to get to Excel for tomorrow. £2.50 if you show your BETT pass when you buy the Air Line ticket I don't want to go anywhere near Canning Town either direct from Tower Gateway or indirect. Plans will change if it's chucking it down! 1

DJ-1701 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Well I made it to Paddington... As I try and remember my way, I guess I will see you sometime before BETT 2020. 1
elsiegee40 Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 Lovely on the Air Line this morning 1
Dos_Box Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 How on earth did I get to East India?! Trade winds! 3
elsiegee40 Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 Lovely on the Air Line this morning Not so lovely on the return trip. The gusty winds had it swinging a lot! Still it was quicker than the DLR which decided to seize up again just as the exhibitors left
elsiegee40 Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 The DLR was nice and easy when we left. It waited for the Exhibitors to cause maximum grief!
Kingstech Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 It waited for the Exhibitors to cause maximum grief! It's a good thing we left a little earlier then. ☺ 1
Devontechie Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 It waited for the Exhibitors to cause maximum grief! They said about problems at East India when we was at Tower gateway..
DJ-1701 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 They said about problems at East India when we was at Tower gateway.. My fault for mentioning it earlier. They were having issues since BETT closed to the visitors. Thank you to all the Edugeek staff and ICT Direct, wonderfully warm as always, and great to talk with. You all deserve a medal and a nice long rest (and that's just for dealing with me ). 2
elsiegee40 Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 It seems the DLR works fine until people start to use it. It bumbles around in its only little world and then breaks as soon as more than half a dozen get on a train
