Following on from the massive fire last night in Liverpool, anyone on here have one of the estimated 1400 vehicles involved?

Car dealers across the North West are going to be rubbing their hands together this next few weeks!!

Or the insurance company of an aged landrover...

It seems a bit unfair that so many will have their no claims hit after this.

I seen this in the local news - I believe it was a horse show that weekend so they had the horses etc on the bottom floor of the car-park!

But yes the car dealers on the strand will be busy today!

More to this to as to why it has been such a large fire but similar happened in a field in Hampshire a few years ago at a festival.

Thing with this was one catches fire, fuel tank burst you then have running fuel going under each car which catches fire, fuel tank on that and so on all the way down the row. Potential for thousands of litres of fuel, oil and other fluids, plus cars like to go well.

Would be interesting to know if a load of electric cars would burn in the same way or whether the lack of burning liquid fuel would stop it spreading so badly.

Warning: do not try this......💀

If you watch the Grand Tour, the electric car Richard Hammond crashed - https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/pic2.jpg?strip=all&w=960 - kept burning for days as the battery cells kept exploding one after another - if the fuel ignites, it'll go boom but that'll be it, where as electric cars potentially keep exploding for days...
