Does anyone know how much Seagate charge for shipping etc on a RMA?

I've got a 40gb hard drive with warranty until 2009 but it might cost more to RMA than to chuck in the bin :D

You ship to a UK forwarding centre so whatever royal mail charge to send the weight of the hard drive? Depends if you send it recoreded or standard parcels.

Unlike Maxtor who forced you to send RMA's to Eire which was almost as much as the ruddy drive...

Yup agreed and it had to be fully tracked to the door and they blooming well checked as well as they returned on to me un-repaired as i used cheap shipping for it! Next one was sent DHL for some stupid amount of cash but it got repaired (was a big 74GB SCSI drive though at the time £450 worth of drive so not that bad really)

Turns out the drive was never at fault, but the IDE cable was buggered and the partition table had died.

I don't understand computers at times!

Thanks anyway ;)

All Maxtor RMAs are handled by Seagate now and goto the UK forwarding center.
