gsk Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Hi All, I'm looking for an offline game with a simple level editor so that the pupils can play the built in levels and then have a go at designing their own. I would like it to be fairly simple as it would be for KS2 children. Any ideas? Thanks,
RTi78 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Not sure about the 'built in levels' but take a look at https://www.2simple.com/product/2do-it-yourself
3s-gtech Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Would LittleBigPlanet fit the bill? PS3s required of course, but simplicity is foremost.
gsk Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 I want to avoid extra cost as much as possible, so the PS3 thing does look good but doesn't quite fit what I want to do with this. I'm having a go with Mario Builder and SuperTuxKart to see if they are going to be simple enough to create levels on. Thanks,
TomHD Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) Trials Evolution Gold Edition and Trials Fusion both on PC, both relatively cheap and both have excellent "creator modes"... Players are given the same tools (minus a few special tools) that the devs have to build the in game tracks and mini games. Have a look at this for an idea of what the editor tools can do - If this is of any interest to you I may be able to put you in direct contact with some really amazing Trials builders Also, I know the game is bike focused but you can pretty much make any game within the editor... Some one made COD Zombies - Edited December 19, 2017 by TomHD
bald_pig Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Trackmania Nations Forever, completely free. Has an online component but our firewall blocks it.
Knil92 Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Dungeon Keeper 2, you basically design your own dungeon, make sure you have enough sleeping space for your monsters, different rooms attrach different monsters etc...
Xellpnz Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Good check would be steam. Browsing Level Editor That's the link to the steam store/ with the tags level editor. Would be a case of checking though and see what takes your interest. Most developers are more than willing to chat, you can give them a chat within the Community sections for each game. Some may even give you some copies for free due to being in education, just all depends on the devs. Hope that helps =)
