HP Prodesk 400 g3 image - mouse / keyboard not operational

We're trying to deploy a Windows 7 image to a new HP Prodesk 400 g3 using MDT 2012 / Deployment Workbench. The machine PXE boots OK and rolls out the wim but the keyboard and mouse are not operational to select any options. I've tried injecting usb drivers and have tried to use the drivers created by the Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility - no good. Any assistance / thoughts would be gratefully received.

I had something similar on an HP 3010 where the usb chipset drivers were wrong. In the end, I managed to remote onto the PC and change the drivers in device manager. We didn't have many of these so I haven't looked into it very far.

Interested if you find out what causes this - we have cloned the drivers from one of these into MDT, works perfectly in WinPE but then the keyboard and mouse don't work in Win7 OS. Works fine on Windows 10.

We RDP onto the machines and point the PCs at our MDT driver share and it then installs correctly... so the correct driver must be in there...

Thanks for that. Will give that a try. Were you able to rdp OK onto the machine once imaged?

Thanks. We've downloaded and added every driver we can find! Is there a specific driver we should make sure we've included? We'll keep trying!

Yeah we were able to RDP fine as we have it enabled by GPO and the machine joined that OU as part of our task sequence

We use a program called double driver so got a set of working drivers from the HP out the box image at the time. Happy to ZIP them over to you if you can't find a working one.

We have also found a neat little tool called Driver Pack.. if you remember to untick the bloatware that comes with it is really handy at finding drivers for machines

how are you doing drivers in mdt are you just telling it to look through all available drivers or do you have a selection profile for just the correct ones as ive had hps (cant remember the model number off hand) do that before when just allowed to pick any driver in mdt (ive also had some that have no kb/mouse in windows pe before now)
