Macromedia Studio 2004 - Deployment on Win10

Digging out some old software here! I've been asked to look at deploying Macromedia 2004 Suite to a few rooms which have recently been moved to Windows 10 and Macromedia not included as part of the image. Any advise on deploying this via GPO as no MSI is provided, never tried capturing an MSI on Windows 10 either but with the amount of background stuff going on with 10 I imagine its not ideal.

 

IMO 13 year old software is probably past its sale by date but hey ho.

Macromedia Studio 2004 didn't work well on Windows 7 and certainly not with UAC... good luck with Windows 10. :/

Flash 2004 hated Windows 7 so much that if you just looked at moving a menu window it would crash for us (and that was with the compatibility update installed)

 

We have to run it all in a XP VM to keep the applications stable, but there is no way we're porting them over to Windows 10

I thought running CS6 on 10 was a push (it works lovely, as does 5/5.5 by all accounts)! I think that horse isn't just dead, it has been canned and is available in Tesco.

TBH, pretty much all of the components are so out of date to be irrelevant.

Flash is almost totally dead, Dreamweaver is like using lead type to produce a modern newspaper and the last version of Fireworks was killed by Adobe in 2012.

Tell the teacher that you will give Adobe a call and prepare to pencil it into next years department budget.
