localzuk Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 I've been asked to deploy the latest version of Pivot Animator here and am struggling to find any switches to get it to install silently. Anyone know what they might be?
6Foot2 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Would @Arthur's MSI help you here? Link: MSI for Pivot Stick Animator
6Foot2 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Another thought: Silent Switch Finder: "pivot_v2-2.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP-
localzuk Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Tried those switches - they changed something for the v4 installer sadly, so they don't work. I think I'll go with Arthur's MSI.
angrycomputingteacher Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 I was trying to install it silently last week but couldn't get it working so I installed it manually
localzuk Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Tip - contact the developer. Very helpful! Emailed me within a couple of hours with a solution to it.

localzuk Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 What was the solution? An installer that does what I wanted. Not to be redistributed though.
Arthur Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) An installer that does what I wanted. Not to be redistributed though. Do you know if the developer is going to fix the version on the website? I am guessing the non-redistributable version doesn't contain any of the junk included with the regular installer? I also noticed Windows Defender deletes the installer if you have PUP detection turned on. Edited December 9, 2017 by Arthur 1
sparkeh Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 @Arthur yes I experienced defender removal yesterday. The bundled crap explains it now.

I doubt it, as there's something in the FAQ about all the junk in the installer - ie. its their revenue stream.
breakfast11 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Hi All I also had this job today and wasn't getting anywhere with a bat file. I could get it to install via GPO and also using PDQ Deploy. But to try and and work it through MDT with the msi via a bat file wasn't working. In the end I installed wItem installer, and then worked through the template and went into the current pivot installation on the pc and created an msi that way. I was able to add shortcuts into the msi as well. I then created a bat file to run silently with the new msi with "/passive /quiet" as parameters, and it worked fine.
breakfast11 Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Just to add - that was with version 4.2.6 - and that process did not work with 4.2.7!
pivotanimator Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) Hi All. I am the developer of Pivot Animator. The official version on the website is as intended. The installer comes with offers for other software but they're all optional during installation and safe. However, some antivirus software are giving false alarms. Of course that version doesn't help you deploy on a network either. If you would like to deploy Pivot Animator on a school network then please contact me at [email protected] or via the contact form from your school or educational authority email address. I'll be more than happy to help you. In future I would like to make an educational package available on the website, which would include additional teaching materials (exercises, etc). It would have no advertising but would be purchasable at a small price. Unfortunately I don't have time to work on that at the moment, but when I do would that be of interest to anyone?
