Are these questions being memorized and repeated online, or do they have internet access while doing them? For Edexcel internet access is blocked while doing the assessments.

Other option is to stop living in the past and realise that everything is collaborative and exams are stupid. Tell pupils they have to list everyone who helped in their group projects, and everyone has to explain how it works in a one on one session, to show they understand what they've submitted. That mirrors reality way more.

I'm rather staggered that the plan was to give a task to 70,000 teenagers and expect them not to post it on the internet.

Why does this surprise people in this day and age? The way education runs tests, controlled assessments and coursework is flawed and if students aren’t screenshooting work, sharing tasks over email and IM or even having it adjusted and collated is beyond me.

Over six years I’ve seen rules ignored over controlled assessments, work shared through projects and teachers even collating students work themselves and putting it into some sort of order and even filling in blanks in order to get grades.

I’m with Mav all the way about collaborative work and then one to one session questioning to make sure they fully understand all aspects of it.
