It may be just over 2 weeks away on the 24th November, but it is about now that the rumors begin to spread about what shiny things will be discounted and where to find them so I thought it would be good to get this years consumer-fest underway once more on EduGeek.

One good place to start is TechRadar where you can find a link to re-sellers that are renown for offering good deals on the day - The best Black Friday deals 2017 | TechRadar

You can also post up any pre-announced deals you see and items you are looking for on the day which may interest other members.

Given there is an awful amount of guff hiding the real deals I hope you will all post up any genuine deals you see, especially as many stores extend the sale over the weekend.

As for me, if any of you see a Nintendo Switch deal, please let me know, although there will be more chance of me seeing Santa's sleigh I suspect. I can always hope that Nintendo will allow a per-Christmas sales boost to push game sales.

personally if you can afford it the x is better and if/when you get a 4k hdr set its ready for that but im running one quite happily on a 1080p set and the 1 game ive played on it definitely runs better (but it is an enhanced game so ymmv) its definitely a step p from a launch xbox but even the s was a bit faster than a launch one. Same as if i diddnt own a ps4 id go straight to a pro

I think it's pretty cheeky that Nintendo have made the included game a download code and not a physical copy. I'm not a great fan of these types of bundles as you've got no way of selling the game on later.

That's what I was thinking. I've got a 360 at the mo, and an old 19" Samsung HD TV, so I've got to upgrade both at some point. Most reviews are of the opinion that unless you've got a 4K TV set, then you are best to stick with the One S, but it's a year old now, and I'm thinking as I missed the original One out, it might be worth going for the X for future proofing and then swap the TV at a later date, even if that means I'm not getting the full wack 4Kness of the console to begin with.

you wont get teh 4k out of it bt you should get better frame rates and tbh that might be a better thing anyway depending on the game/screen size etc i actually wonder if running 1080p hdr on a 4k set isnt possibly the best option so best colour and framerate and unless you have a huge tv i suspect a decent compramise

I think the chances of the 'X' being on offer this Black Friday are slim, however there may be retailers looking to offload their old 'S' stock at very good rates. I got my 'S' last BF for £199 and I can quite easily imagine £150 deals being done this year to clear the shelves.

Arghh! Just sent off my 240GB SSD (that I got 2 BFs ago for £39.99- that's depressing ) for a warranty replacement by Sandisk and was hoping I wouldn't be tempted by a new SSD whilst using this 5400rpm dinosaur in the meantime.

It looks like the chances of a Switch only deal are slim.

There are reports of many stores building stocks of Switches but it looks like these will be sold as bundles only

Was just going to post this. I do enjoy a GOG sale: the really big ones are like games in themselves, with achievements for creating wishlists, etc.
