Need advice setting up twitter for a primary school

Personally I'd suggest starting by surveying parents; there is little point going to the effort of setting up a Twitter account if none of them actually use it...!

 

The next step would then be 'risk assessing' the concept to explore how to manage it as safely as possible; to do that you need to develop a thorough understanding of how the tool works. We specifically cover some FAQs on setting up Facebook pages and groups, Twitter and YouTube.

Facebook your choices are either: A page, which facebook want you to pay for to get to all your followers, or a group, where everyone in the group can see everyone else.

 

I added https://onesignal.com to our website, one month later we have about half as many people receiving instant notifications as we have pupils, not bad considering I've never publicised it.
