berttie Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Hi, just started work in a secondary school and the have the following problem. When saving a Powerpoint document to a redirected student folder we get the following error This only happens when the document has data in it. For example if login with a student ID and the open PowerPoint straight away and immediately save an empty powerpoint the issue goes away completely. Whatever we do on a powerpoint document that has not been saved as a empty document first becomes impossible to save in anyway. Background info. All PCs are windows 10 Server is 2012 All folders are redirected for all students.
Rob_D Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 That's an odd one. Have you tried saving to a local drive (like a USB stick)? You've checked the permissions on the shares for the redirected home drives? Do you have other accounts that can save okay? What are the differences?
berttie Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Hi, Thanks for your reply, Saving to a local drive is impossible .. saving anywhere is not possible. Share permissions are OK (I think) as we can same an empty powerpoint at fist login and also create a text file at any time is the redirected folders. Accounts that work are for sure are any roaming profiles. So .. at the moment we are looking at profiles ... for no particular reason other that narrowing down the issue.
Hunter Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 may be a long short but if permissions are ok and drives are mapped correct, could it be an issue with your install of power-point if you have a test rig could you try a new copy. Try test with a local administrator account too?
