E4education CMS thoughts

Hi

 

We are looking at changing our website solution.

 

Had a couple of companies in and E4education looked quite good, so first question is if anyone uses E4education and how have they found both the site design, CMS tools and company in general.

 

Our main criteria

 

Certain sections would need to be edited by different staff so HR (for jobs), PA Newsletter etc without giving full access. So if anyone uses the above is this reasonably seamless ? Also how have they found the Management of the website using this solution ?

 

Obviously if anyone has suggestions on other CMS or website solutions we have looked at so far Concept4 and E4education.

We used E4Education at my last school. Was very impressed with the end product and the ease of which we could update the site. As you've said, we could also give out sections of the website to other departments to update which reduced our workload and they found it easy as well. What I particularly liked was that other staff could update their pages but before it went live it had to be approved, giving an extra layer of checking to ensure what went out was correct.

Thanks for this is part of the reason we are looking at this as want various department to be able to update various sections themselves. Thanks for info as regards someone having to approve updates can the various areas be set so that different people approve the content before it is updated.

Yeh pretty sure you can set admin on different pages who have to approve changes. They receive email notifications as well to let them know there is an update to approve

Worked well for us when we had a site with e4education. Only thing to be mindful of is the ongoing maintenance cost.

Yes thanks are discussing this with SLT so that this is sort of paid from separate budget thank IT especially setup costs.

We've used them for years and have just recently gone through a very thorough and successful overhaul of our site, with a complete redesign to make the site work nicely with mobiles and touch. We don't happen to use the approval process in the CMS, so I can't recall quite how granular things can get, but it does allow for different user roles, etc.

The support team are very responsive too and helpful.

E4education here also and their cms is about as good as you’ll find! To the point where we had other staff updating the website.

Ongoing maintenance isn’t high at circa £550 per year and that includes all support and hosting - don’t think that is unreasonable .

 

I’d use them again.
