I have 3 schools who purchased the SIMS Teacher App for registers. I rolled it out to one of them at the beginning of September and we have had constant issues and I've yet to roll it out to the other two because of these issues. I have not had a day where we've not had an issue somewhere.

We use iPad mini 2 using iOS 10 or 11 and the app either:

- crashes

- does not save the register

- saves the register but appears as N or blank in SIMS

- keeps logging you out

- keeps asking you to create a new PIN

Capita released an update last week to fix these issues but only the last issue has been fixed I believe. I'm keen to see if any other schools have had the same problems. Had Capita given us a trial I would have refused to have any dealings with the app.

We've had a few niggles over the last year with it. We've not had the app crash but we have some teacher says they do the register but doesn't save. We enabled offline use on the user accounts which seems to help.

My main issue is the SIMs Teacher App portal. Needs massively updating.

@gchivers - I checked with our Teacher App team about this and they think they are aware of your issues through a case submitted today. The app is compatible with iOS 10 and 11 and it sounds like connectivity may be the cause of your issues, which would require the user to sign-in and create a new PIN code.

The service desk and Teacher app team will investigate with you to identify the cause of the issue to help get things resolved.

Apparently yes but it is an app that may behave differently on a Windows 10 OS. I have just asked them to clarify exactly how it behaves. Any idea of the costs?

Thanks
