re-routing Exchange 2010 to Office 365 in outlook 2010

I'm using an external company to migrate from Exchange 2010 to office 365, the Migration of mailboxes is now complete and they are looking to switch the MX records over.

 

One concern that I have is that the majority of end users are using Outlook 2010 linked to my (exchange 2010) server on site. Is anyone aware of how to smoothly transition them all to the office 365 servers instead? Am I looking at running a script on each end machine at logon, is it a local DNS record or do I need to create a "HOW TO" for each of the users to do it themselves.

It's a long time since I've had to deal with this but as I remember, when Outlook connects to Exchange and requests a mailbox which has been migrated, Exchange will redirect Outlook to 365 automatically and it is fairly seemless for the end user
