Exchange 2003 Servcie Pack 2 deployment.

Have any of you deployed this to your 2003 exchange boxes?

 

I am thinking of doing this on Monday and wonderd any of you had experinced any problems/issues?

I have done this at a dozen sites without any issues except the last one!

 

The last site had a DC thats all it did, DHCP and DNS nothing else.

 

I updated the Exchange box and decided as the DC had the Exchange Administration tools on it I updated this as well.

 

Everything is fine except now on the DC box the Domain Controller Security Policy shortcut no longer works!

 

It reports something like it's only valid for applications that are installed!

 

Yet it works fine from a custom mmc.

 

Nothing else was done to this box except exchange SP2

 

Weird and still looking for the fix....

I think we have done it, or should i say let WSUS do it for us

I can't find any trace of it in our WSUS, it has download all other service packs and i leave them for manual approval. I have checked the settings and i have got the Exchange options ticked.

 

OH well, I'll do a manual install.

We had no issues, I completed it at the end of last week!

Worked fine here, and it's really an essential upgrade as it lets you have a database of 75gb instead of 15gb for sp1

FreeWill did ours last week and it seems to be ok
