NumberSix Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Hi all, I'm looking to fit a 65" or larger touchscreen into a room but have some concerns about durability. Budget is tight (approx £1500) but I don't really want to install a projector and white board if I can help it (because of the makeup of the room - ceiling hoists & light fittings would need alterations). Are there any large touch panels out there that would be able to take a reasonable amount of knocks, punches and withstand having various items being thrown at it - pretty much on a daily basis? Essentially, i just want to know if there are any large touch panels out there that can take a beating and if anyone on here can relate to this and share their experiences but also provide any recommendations. Thanks very much
caffrey Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Would a wall mount ultra short throw projector not work ?
NumberSix Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 Would a wall mount ultra short throw projector not work ? Possibly, yes - I'm looking into this as might have to go down this route. Would still prefer a touchscreen.
gumbygaz Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 We've has a couple Genee Screens from Interactive Education which seem to be pretty durable. Usual toughened glass etc if that's what your after and metal casing, they were about £1800 installed. They've got a clearance page: https://www.interactive-education.co.uk/clearance/ and couple under the £1500 budget? Also had an email from Laptop House for these Avocor | Avocor V-Series Interactive Display - that was £1500 with 5yr guarantee. Never heard of the brand though, but again say they're durable? Could be an option. 1
NumberSix Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 @gumbygaz - thanks for those links - the G-Touch Classic with 4mm toughened glass looks promising - I'll certainly find out more about those.
