If any EduGuys can take the time off (mainly term time) you could get paid over a grand for sleeping! (There's also an insomnia study open to both sexes).

https://crc.surrey.ac.uk/volunteers/studies/sleep-study

Admittedly, this does sound like the pitch for a horror film:

5 years ago Edward Geek took part in a sleep experiment. Now, his fellow volunteers are dying in their sleep. They brought something back from the dream realm. Something evil. It is stalking them; using their life force to open a gateway to this world. If it succeeds, all our lives will become a living nightmare. DREAM DEMON. Rated PG12 for mild profanity, brief nudity and some scenes of bloody violence.

Looking at the dates in their little table, it seems that this study is already finished.

Otherwise I know a colleague of mine from the support team who would consider this as a way of getting themselves a nice iPhone X :)

Doh! Didn't register that. OTOH, they were plugging it on Spotify last night, so may be worth a punt.

what's the contraception bit about?

Maybe it's a cover for a program to activate the dormant "X" gene, and they want to be really sure that the lab rats participants don't pass on any potentially bad mutations to the next generation.

Darn… yes @ICTDirect_Dave, it has finished…

But they regularly do sleep studies…

Last one I attended was for double dosing melatonin to see how it affected your circadian rhythms…

Melatonin naturally occurs in the body, so my GP was ok with me taking up the trial.

The developed drug was used to improve fighter pilots alertness during long flight sorties of 8-12hours.

Made £2000 for six weeks sleep! Result! :D
