Now I know this is not the right forum for laptops but I have a number of older lap tops with linited memory which are still fully functional. I want to convert them to Linux with open office for some of our special need kids (mainly dislexics as we are the county dislexia unit).

Can anyone recommend a distro and desktop ( and where to get them) which would be suitable.

The laptops are mainly 800 MHz 128M of ram machines.

Thanks in advance

HI, I have been using PCLinOS 2007 (pc linux) http://www.pclinuxos.com/

There is a lightweight version 'MiniMe' Also 'TiniMe' made for older machines, you just add from 'synaptic' what programs you want.

I find it more like Windozzz.. more than 'ubuntu' is.:D

EDIT. I have tried Tinyme on an old 125MHz with 196Mb Ram and It worked !.
